Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

I think my billboard to Brett turned out rather nicely...

I did help pay for it so it's -i n part - my billboard. And my brother's. We both chipped in $10. One Facebook page and $2,600 later and you have this billboard situated in Brett's hometown of Hattiesburg, MS...for a month. I think there's two of them actually. All paid for by fans.

You can donate to help keep the billboard up by going to Vikes Fans 4 Favre. And if you would like to help Brett or Deanna's charities - Deanna Favre4Hope (breast cancer awareness) or Fourward Foundation (Brett charity for disadvantaged/disabled children in MS, WI and soon, MN). According to Deanna's sister, both aforementioned charities will be folded into one - the Favre #4 Hope Foundation. Recently, the foundation donated an unspecified amount to Make-a-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin to help fight children’s diseases, and $100,000 to Ribbon of Hope Foundation in Wisconsin, which fights breast cancer. Stand-up guy, that Favre. Pretty-fucking-stand-up - considering how half the fans hate him in my home state.

Oh - there's a very nice letter from Brett to his Minnesota fans on his website. It's nice...not really telling about his future with the Vikings but a thank you for this season.

Bad Brett. Bad Favre.

Associated Press - BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. -- Quarterbacks Brett Favre and Steve McNair, in connection with the NFL Youth Football Fund, have handed out 20 checks totaling $150,000 to help local football programs in south Mississippi recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Favre and McNair, both Mississippi natives, first discussed a Katrina relief effort during a preseason game between the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans in Nashville last year. The two agreed the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation and the Steve McNair Foundation would do what they could to help those in need.

Their efforts in the month following Katrina included 20 semitrailers filled with baby formula, water, food and other supplies. On Thursday, high school football programs trying to regroup with lost equipment took center stage. "We were doing a piece for the Red Cross in Nashville when we talked about what we could do for some of the people. We tried to do what we could to bring some joy...It will not be enough, but we're happy to help get these programs back and running. It will take a while for the coast to get back, but hopefully this will help some," Favre said.

The grants ranged between $1,500 and $5,000 with the NFL matching funds up to $5,000 to schools and nonprofit youth football organizations. To receive the grants, schools and youth leagues filled out applications with the NFL Youth Football Fund. Favre's foundation awarded checks to four schools and one youth league in Hancock County and Mercy Cross High in Biloxi. McNair's foundation contributed 15 checks to schools ranging from the Gulf Coast to Bassfield and Laurel.

But we all KNOW the truth - that good ole boy Brett is just a selfish primadonna, thinking only of himself because he made a mistake and retired early and just wants to play football. Shame on you, Brett. But thanks for the cash. And Packer GM Ted Thompson is still a douche bag.

Wisconsin State Legislature Passes Resolution to Honor Favre

MADISON — The state Legislature officially bid farewell to Brett Favre today, passing a resolution honoring the former Green Bay Packers quarterback and the NFL’s only three-time most valuable player.

The resolution honors Favre for leading the Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XXXI and breaking the league records for passing touchdowns, completions, attempts and quarterback victories.

“Brett Favre’s legacy will live on beyond his many impressive records and statistics, as his leadership and love of football embody the heart of America’s favorite game, earning him the respect and admiration of his fellow players, coaches and fans,” the resolution said.

The resolution also commends Favre for his charity work through the Favre Fourward Foundation, which he set up in 1996 to help poor and disabled children in Wisconsin and Mississippi, Favre’s home state. It also mentions the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation, which his wife created to help women fight breast cancer.

Both the state Assembly and Senate adopted the resolution on unanimous voice votes. As a native Wisconsinite I say, "HUZZAH!"
