I've decided that from now on, NO MERCY. Winning isn't everything - it's the only thing! (Lombardi, former GB Packer coach, said that. Also, Brett Favre NEVER "let" his daughters win at checkers...even when they cried.)

What do you want me to say??? Some say, "let him win once in a while". That's against my competitive nature. You can learn just as much from losing as you can from winning. Brett Favre didn't even let his children beat him at checkers - and they'd cry.

He actually made some good defensive moves. To no avail - but he's learning. He has to learn that it's not the individual battles (checkers you take) that matter but the war (the game in the end) that count.

Three more solid victories.

I even backed off one win in order to give the kid a break but he just couldn't seem to take advantage of my generosity. And I'm such a "mean guy".

Checker Update! Jeff = 11, Colton = 1

I didn't think my complete domination would last forever, but - oh well. In game #11, I killed him with four double jumps. In game #12, we hit a stalemate because we blocked each other's checkers into a no-move situation and it was my turn - not to move. And that was early in the game - I think we each had at least 7 or 8 checkers left. That's never happened to me before and I had to look online to find the ruling.

As Vince Lombardi, the great Green Bay Packer coach said, "It will never happen again".

I'm babysitting tonite. Yeh - I know. Exciting life in LA.

I bet I haven't played checkers in over 20 years. In four games thus far, Colton has managed to take only 3 of my checkers. I am COMPLETELY DOMINATING HIM!!!!!! (And I'm not even cheating - I swear on Brett Favre returning next season.)

Alright, so he's 6. Big deal. He knows how to play chess and I don't, so I'm not giving him any slack. He's lucky I'm even playing with him. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: He wants to take a longer break. Probably 'cause he's getting schmeared. GO PACK in 2008!! I gotta tell ya - I'm playing like fricken Patton out there. Strategy. Calculated moves. Brain power. I love it.
