Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Ben-Ben, Ben-Ben, Ben. Hope it was worth it. 6-game suspension.

I blogged about Pittsburgh Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger’s recent sexually-laced legal woes last month. Kudos to NFL Commish Roger Goodell for handing "Big Ben" a 6-game suspension. This is the exact reason why the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy is in place.

Here are a few excerpts from Commissioner Goodell’s letter:

My decision today is not based on a finding that you violated Georgia law, or on a conclusion that differs from that of the local prosecutor. That said, you are held to a higher standard as an NFL player, and there is nothing about your conduct in Milledgeville that can remotely be described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of our fans.

Your conduct raises sufficient concerns that I believe effective intervention now is the best step for your personal and professional welfare.

I believe it is essential that you take full advantage of the resources available to you. My ultimate disposition in this matter will be influenced by the extent to which you do so, what you learn as a result, and a demonstrated commitment to making positive change in your life.

In your six years in the NFL, you have first thrilled and now disappointed a great many people. I urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity to get your life and career back on track.

Let's see...what games is Big Ben gonna miss? Atlanta, @ Tennessee, @ Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Cleveland and @ Miami. Good luck, back-up QB Byron Leftwich. (Too bad the NFL's PCC doesn't cover matters like waffling about retirement. You know - 'cause that's such a big fucking deal to some people.)

Big Bad Ben. Thanks, Brohaun.

Thanks for stealing the "will he or won't he retire" headlines away from Favre, buddy. What is that now - two sexual misconduct incidences in less than 6 months? July of last year a civil suit was filed accusing Pittsburgh Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting a woman in his hotel room while he was in Lake Tahoe for a celebrity golf tournament. That suit has not yet been settled.

Then just last week, it was revealed that police in Milledgeville, Georgia were investigating Roethlisberger for an unrelated sexual assault inside the women's restroom of a nightclub near the campus of Georgia College & State University. Big Ben has hired the attorney who represented Ray Lewis (murder charges, for which Lewis was only charged with obstruction of justice). Must be serious, eh Ben?

I've said this from Day 1 about Roethlisberger...Meat and Head. Meathead. Except now he's a Meathead with serious issues. Perhaps he should've taken a lessen from Brett and just waffled his way into the news. Poor old Brett. He's only won one SB, has a propensity to throw INT's in big games and waffles about retiring. But Big lug Ben has two SB rings to match his two sexual misconduct charges and he doesn't like to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle.

And people whine that I'm obsessed with Favre...
