Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

BRETT FAVRE named FedEx Air Player of the Week (among other honors)!

For games played in Week 4 of the NFL Season.

Not surprisingly, Brett Favre has garnered his first NFL honors as the Jets' quarterback following his performance against Arizona on Sunday. Favre was also named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for his personal-best, team-record-tying six touchdown passes against Arizona and the Associated Press' (AP) NFL Player of the Week.

I was a bit disappointed in the GMC Defensive Player of the Week choice of Albert Haynesworth, DT, of the Tennessee Titans over Jets' Darrelle Revis, CB. Haynesworth recorded two sacks, six tackles and one pass defensed in the Titans' 30-17 win over the Vikings as Tennessee improved to 4-0. Revis intercepted Cardinals QB Kurt Warner twice, including a 32-yard return for a touchdown, as the Jets defeated the Cardinals, 56-35.

Brett Awarded 5th Fed Ex Air Player Award for Week 12 Against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving

Favre completed 31 of 41 passes for 381 yards, including three touchdowns in the Packers’ 37–26 over the Lions - setting a Packer record of 20 consecutive completed passes. This is Brett's 7th nomination. Tom Brady has 3 wins and Peyton Manning has 0. Not that 5 wins say anything about the season Brett's having, but...

Get that elbow back to full strength, Brett and let's go 4-0 the rest of the season.

Favre, Jones Nominations by FedEx and Diet Pepsi

Brett Favre is again nominated (4th nomination, 2 wins) for FedEx Air Player of the Week for games played in Week 8 of the NFL season. Brett led the Packers to an overtime win last night against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football at Denver - in dramatic fashion, I might add (see post below). See Brett's highlights here: http://www.packers.com/multimedia/video/recent/
Look under Denver game, October 29 - Favre highlights. Two really nice TD bombs you have to watch.

And James Jones is nominated for the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his TD and reception yards for the same game. Jones caught a 79 yard TD pass and ended up with 3 receptions for 107 yards.

"He's old. He should retire and quit embarrassing himself. He's selfish - he's just doing it for the records. He has no arm strength left. He's hurting his team (which is 6-1)."

- Everybody but Green Bay Packer fans (Ok, there's a few Packer fans who thought that as well - but they're idiots, too)
