TGIF! presents..."Your Wildest Dreams" by The Moody Blues!
I'm a big "Moody" fan. Got it from my father. This is one of my favorites. And it goes out to a long lost friend of mine....I hope she is well. I miss her.

Women Celebs I Love #11 - Lena Headey
Geezus - it's been forever since I've done one of these posts. I first remember seeing Headey in Zack Snyder's 300 (2007). She brought strength and sexy to the role of Queen Gorgo...a queen I would gladly allow to rule over me (ha!). She's also starred in the TV show, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, as well as The Brothers Grimm and the cable series, Game of Thrones. Quite a long resume actually.
And I love her British accent. And she's sexy (did I say that already?). Yah. Here's Lena in an interview for 300.

TGIF! presents...Elbow's "Grounds for Divorce"!
(For video above, FB users click here.) Newly discovered Brit alternative band (by me). Their debut album was in 2001. Intelligent lyrics and a great sound. I give'em a 98, Dick! Listen to when Gus Garvey sings the chorus of this song - I swear there are similarities between he and Richard Harris singing "MacArthur Park".
Check out Elbow's Wiki article and their website.

I've seen this movie 3x in 3 weeks...
Master and Commander (2003), starring Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany. Great action sequences, wonderful dialogue, beautiful cinematography, charming music - just a fine, fine movie. And Max Pirkis (Rome) is absolutely brilliant as a young midshipman. And they're making a sequel.
Haven't seen it? Here's the trailer.

TGIF! presents...Robbie Williams' "Angels".
I'm in this video. Well - actually...I'm not in THIS video. I would've been seen near the end but it's cut from this version. I have it on VHS...somewhere. Really. And I met Robbie Williams - nice guy. The U.S. released the video in 1999. I believe it's Williams' biggest song to date.

Women Celebs I Love #8 - Sienna Miller.
She's brash, sexy, irreverent, blunt, honest, is chastised by the press and, in short, is a bad girl and I love her. Sienna graces the cover of this month's British GQ - here are some excerpts from the interview. Click on READ MORE! for more pics of Sienna. An acquaintance of mine in LA met Sienna and spent a bit of time with her. He said she was very nice.
So saucy. So sweet. Makes we wanna eat her.

The poem, "Late Lament", by drummer Graeme Edge, of The Moody Blues.
Breath deep The gathering gloom
Watch lights fade From every room
Bedsitter people Look back and lament
Another day's useless Energy spent
Impassioned lovers Wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love And has none
New mother picks up And suckles her son
Senior citizens Wish they were young
Cold hearted orb That rules the night
Removes the colours From our sight
Red is gray and Yellow white
But we decide Which is right
And Which is an Illusion
From the song, "Nights in White Satin" (1967), sung by The Moody Blues. Music by Justin Hayward. All the Ircink's are big Moody Blues fans. I get an email blurp every so often from the band's website reminding of upcoming events. Just got one and started thinking about the band I really listened to more the The Beach Boys at first (it was The Beatles initially). When my brother and I were very young, my father - who was a musician but not playing anymore - would make us lie down in front of the stereo (those big all-in-one systems from the 1970's) with headsets on and listen to the album, Days of Future Passed, which featured this song. It was a long album for two little kids to listen to - especially that type of music - and we'd get up 'cause we'd had enough and my father would yell, 'Hey, dickheads (which he still calls us) - you're not done. It's a concept album - you have to listen to it from start to finish.' Which it was (he was a musician).
We've seen "The Moodies" a few times. Awesome concerts. Here's the link for Graeme Edge performing Late Lament during a concert: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RjxSdnydaGU, and here's the entire song (sans poetry break) from the late 60's: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9muzyOd4Lh8
