Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

"Tuzu Uzatabilir Misin Lütfen" in Instanbul!

Just when we thought we were finished screening our short film, "Pass the Salt, Please", starring Seymour Cassel and Fionnula Flanagan, we're instantly pulled back into the festival fray. PTSP is headed for Turkey...and our 37th screening. Fil'm Hafizasi Presents:  "The Cook, the Elephant, It's Memory & Lover". We're screening in this program as part of Fil'm Hafizasi's Thematic Nights project this evening, May 28 @ 8:00 pm. If you find yourself in Turkey and near Istanbul, it's worth your while.

PTSP was directed by Tatjana Najdanovic, written by Jeffrey James Ircink (me), executive producers Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Radha Mitchell and Arthur Edström, producers Max Maksimovic, Diana Jackson O'Keeffe and associate producer Gary Benser.

In preparation for our Istanbul screening, I practiced a Whirling Dervish dance...I'm second from the right.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Be thankful. There's always someone or something who has it worse...like this turkey.

Have you seen this turkey?

The Bubbler Gobbler has been captured! My virgin turkey in my new home in Greendale ("the bubble"). Never used a knife to carve - meat pealed off. Thanks, Erica, for helping make the time pass faster.

Welcome to Glover's Le Orangiere in beautiful Tunjunga, California.

Football Sunday. While Maria and Baby Grace slept, Donovan made us each a lovely turkey sandwich, as well as the crackers with a provolone cheese and artichoke bruschetta spread. I thought I was eating out. Impressive, Donovan. Glad I ate it BEFORE the Jets blew the game today.

PETA may be looking for you, Mr. Favre.

A couple posts down, I have a story on PETA's (Preservation for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) attempts to have "fish" renamed as "sea kittens". Forgot this update: Look out Brett Favre - PETA may soon be looking for you.

“That was pretty good,” Jets linebacker Eric Barton said. “Definitely up there.”

(Above: Goya's "Dead Turkey", 1808-1812...can you spot the 2nd turkey, the bearded man and Goya's signature?)

Favre, notorious for shenanigans involving lockers, apparently took out his latest prank on Barton. No one's sure what kind of dead animal Favre shot (presumably), bagged and dumped inside Barton’s locker (blood and guts included with bag), though some think it was wild turkey ('tis turkey season, you know).

“It definitely had the wow factor,” said left guard Alan Faneca, whose locker is next to Barton’s and was one of the many Jets' players gathered around Barton’s locker and engaged in fits of laughter. “I’ve never had a dead animal brought into the locker room, so yeah, it’s up there...I hope that the animal rights activists find out about it, whoever did it, that cruel person.”

Asked if this was an example of how Favre was fitting into the Jets’ locker room, Faneca said: “He fits because of his personality. He likes to have a good time and joke around and have fun while you’re doing it. That’s the way we should be doing things out here.”

Barton said he had no plans for payback. One presumes. Meanwhile, Favre has now moved on to watching "The Godfather II". Gobble, gobble.

Favre & Co. Carve Up Their Own Brand of Turkey (I mean Lion) / 10-1

I am stuffed. Had a wonderful long weekend in Santa Barbara with family and to top it off, the Green Bay Packers stuffed the Detroit Lions at Detroit on Turkey Day. It was especially nice watching the game with my Uncle Bob and Cousin Mike - visiting from Wisconsin. I don't get to see many games with family.

Brett set a Green Bay Packer record of 20 consecutive completed passes (he set his own personal best when he hit 15); he had his 7th 300+ yards passing game, which ties his own team record; it was Brett's 63rd game with 3+ TDs, which broke Dan Marino's record of games with 3 or more TDs, and he had his 8th game this season of a 100+ passer rating - a personal best.
Game highlights - go to Nov. 22 - NFL Scoreboard game highlights - http://www.packers.com/multimedia/video/recent/

More to follow - I think the triptophan is kicking in.

Brett and Ruvell Martin sharing a moment after Martin's TD catch.

This Thursday on the NFL Network = Green Bay 10-1 @ Dallas Cowboys 10-1. This could be a big game as it may have implications for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Brett's never won at Dallas (and Dallas has never won at GB). Dallas MAY have an edge in some categories but DO NOT underestimate the Packers - not this year.
