Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Jammin' @ Christmas time!

I usually make my black raspberry jam in September but never got around to it. Ircink family pierogi gathering this evening and I wanted to get some jam to my aunts and uncle. 23, 8-ounce jars. 32 last year. I swear I had the same amount of quart bags of raspberries. I did have the same amount.

Odd.

Russian sage smudge sticks.

Cut down the Russian sage today, salvaging what was left of the leafy parts of the plant to make smudge sticks. Let'em dry for a couple weeks and let the cleansing begin! What? Never heard of "smudge sticks"? Well read on, friend. Read on!

Last smudge stick outing....click here.

Here is the beginning of my post. And here is the rest of it.

make jam. not war.

Can you imagine if countries made jam and had competitions instead of killing each other? Not just jam though - the planting of the shrubs, tending to the bushes, harvesting, freezing. Why do I always have to think of this shit?

Well I did my part today. 32 - 8 ounce jars. That's what 9 quart bags will yield. 12 more jars than last year. Black raspberry...from the gardens here at Glen Mar.

Do you like jam? Probably cheaper in the store. This is special schtuff.

Early Girl!

July 29. First tomato of the season. Got my plants in the ground late this year. That's cool. Raspberries are done (9 quart bags) so I've got 14 tomato plants to tend to (2 Better Boy, 3 Early Girl and 9 Cherry).

I let her finish ripening in the window. It's where I put all my Girls...
