Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Katya's business card literally dropped onto my hand.

Katya V. Vall. Model. I was writing at Tanner's Coffee and a gust of wind blew open the door and scattered a stack of 32 different business cards that were placed in a holder near the door. This model's business card literally landed on the backside of my right hand while I was typing.

Fate? Kismet? Should I email her? I already did...

Hey! Someone got my peanut butter and butter bagel right! I wonder if this is part of the "change" we were promised??

I hang out at Tanner's Coffee a lot in Culver City (among other coffeehouses). It's where I write (plays and blog) and can actually accomplish things. So this morning I order a garlic bagel with my calling card condiments - butter & peanut butter. Butter first. Add the peanut butter on top. Aside from this being an "odd" combination (or so I've been told), it's really a very simple task to perform. Travis the monkey could do it ("could" being the operative word). But not the kind, Spanish-speaking ladies at Winchell's Donuts (across the street from where I work). They've screwed up my order on at least four occasions. I won't bore you with the details - just look up "Winchell's Donuts" under my blog archive and you can read all about it.

Not this morning. The pleasant, attractive, Caucasian, English-speaking girl behind the counter (I said she was attractive, right?) handed me my order - done to perfection. Maybe it's because she could understand English. What a wonderful way to start my morning in sunny Californ-I-A. In the United States. Where ENGLISH is our language. Adios!

Playing now at Tanner's Coffee...2 sweets back-to-back!

Misirlou - Dick Dale

I saw Dick Dale perform this song at a benefit in October. The Roxy on the Strip in Hollywood. The man is 72 and runs around and performs the guitar like he's 18. More on him later. And...

Bristol Stomp - The Dovells

"Do you know a place name Pico Rivera?"

So I'm standing outside of Tanner's Coffee in Culver City, Cali (just 10 minutes ago) and a guy comes up to me - homeless, transient, whatever - and asks me, "Do you know a place named Pico Rivera?" I wasn't sure what he meant, so I say, "Is it a business?" He repeats, "Do you know a place named Pico Rivera." Smug-like. I say, "No."

He continues walking down the street. I go online. Pico Rivera is a city about 33 miles due east of Culver City. By car.

Good luck, asshole.

People who drag their feet...

...you know, they don't pick up their feet when they walk? And they're wearing sandals or flip flops? It's grating, annoying, lazy and ignorant.

This girl at Tanner's Coffee Shop keeps dragging her feet as she walks by. I bet she wouldn't drag them if I shoved one of her sandals up her ass.

Coffee rage in Culver City.

I'm at Tanner's Coffee Shop in Culver City writing. This guy behind me is watching something on his computer. He's got a headset on but he's laughing and making all sorts of other sounds ("oh no", "come on", "no way").

It's annoying me. If you hear siren's in the Culver City area or I don't answer my phone or emails for a few days, it's because I swear I'm gonna stab him with a sharp object.
