June 2008. Breached. Lake Delton draining into the Wisconsin River. The 250-acre Lake Delton is right next to the Wisconsin Dells, a big tourist destination in central Wisconsin. Governor Doyle promises that the lake will be re-filled.

Lake Delton - gone. AND, the Village of Lake Delton opted to decline participate in a floodplain insurance program offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Means FEMA may or may not declare it a disaster area - and Lake Delton may or may not get federal aid.
