Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

TGIF! Doubleplay presents...Harry Nilsson's "Me and My Arrow", from The Point.

"The Point" (1971) was an animated story of a boy named Oblio - and his dog, Arrow - who was born without a pointed head (not the norm is that whacky, upside down world) and is banished to The Pointless Forest and goes on a series of adventures, learning that it is not at all necessary to be pointed to have a point in life.

Harry Nilsson wrote the story and the soundtrack, performing most of the songs, including this one. Great show. Thought of Nilsson as I'm headed to The Troubadour tonite (my first visit) and it was there that Nilsson and John Lennon were booted out (1974) for heckling Tommy Smothers (Smothers Brothers). Nilsson was under the assumption Tommy liked the heckling for the act. No hard feelings on either side. Lenny Bruce also got arrested on obscenity charges at The Troubadour and Janis Joplin spend her last night on earth there.

Nilsson also wrote and performed "Everybody's Talkin' " (1969) for the movie "Midnight Cowboy".
