Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Uhhh...I think Sesame Street has some 'splaining to do, por fa fucking vor!

I gave Baby Grace her Christmas presents last night. One was a small Elmo doll she loves (she can't have enough Elmo dolls). The other one was a round, ball-like toy with Ernie's face on one side and Bert's face on another. You squeeze their mouths and they talk and the ball shakes.

Grace loves Sesame Street. Nino Jeff loves Sesame Street. Grace loves Ernie and Bert. So does Nino Jeff. So I gave her the above toy first. She freaked. What the fuck?! I have it on videotape. Though we laughed, I still don't get it.

So now Sesame Street is on my shit list. I know I bought the toy, and maybe I can't blame Sesame Street because each kid is going to react differently. But Grace loves Ernie and Bert. I don't understand it. Perhaps she'll warm up to it later...after she's been untraumatized.

I assume the wonderful folks at Sesame Street test their products. Grace couldn't be the only child to spaz out upon seeing this toy. I mean shit - I could've just gotten her this...with the same results:

And I could've taken it home and kept it myself - shown my roommate's kid what happens to 7-year-olds who aren't "seen and not heard".

last night while watching "It's A Wonderful Life" I laughed when I heard two of the cops say, "Bert!" and then, "Ernie!"
