Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

TGIF! presents..."The Homecoming" (1971)!

This is the first 9 minutes of the original movie that the television series, "The Waltons", was based on. It's one of my all-time favorites - I can watch it any time of the year, though as it takes place during Christmas, it warms my heart especially this time of year. The musical score by Jerry Goldsmith is poignant and brilliant. I suggest you watch it through 4:10 mark.

Earl Hamner, Jr., the creator of the book, this movie and the TV series, is a friend of mine. That's his voice you hear narrating in the beginning of this movie - and every Waltons' TV show. He is a dear man. The show - the story - is based on his life growing up in Virginia. He IS John-Boy.

If this TV movie had been a feature film in the theaters, I would've given it every Oscar there is.

Merry Christmas!
