Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

McCarthy is NFL Alumni Coach of the Year

McCarthy lost to Belicheat in the Associated Press Coach of the Year Award - an honor bestowed on the best coach of the NFL by sportswriters.

This award, however was voted by NFL Alumni, a group of former players. He'll receive the award from Hall of Fame coach Don Shula at a dinner in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Feb. 1, the eve of Super Bowl XLII. Former NFL players vote for NFL Alumni players of the year at the positions they once played.

Hmmm. Coach of the Year as chosen by sportswriters who chose a cheat or Coach of the Year as chosen by former NFL players...I like the sound of the second one better. McCarthy, who coached the Packers to a team record-tying 13-3 season this year, has a record of 21-11 (.656 winning percentage) which matches the team record set by Mike Sherman for best start by a coach in his first two seasons. Vince Lombardi (15-9, .625) and Mike Holmgren (18-14, .562) rank third and fourth on the list.
