Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Favre, McCarthy Nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Year/Motorola Coach of the Year

Favre led the Packers to a 13-3 record and the NFC North title. Favre completed 66.5 percent of his passes (his highest ever) for 4,155 yards and threw 28 touchdown passes. Favre set five career NFL records, including most wins by a quarterback (160 - beating Elway), most touchdown passes (442 - beating Marino), most passing yards (61,655 - beating Marino) and completions (5,377 - beating Marino) and surpassing George Blanda for most INTs. Favre now has ALL the major QB records for the NFL. There are no more.

His 82-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings against Denver was the second-longest overtime touchdown in NFL history. Favre was nominated for six FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week awards in 2007, winning five times - two other QBs tied for three wins.

Mike McCarthy took a Green Bay team that finished 8-8 in 2006 to a 13-3 record, securing the No. 2 seed in the NFC and tying the Packers franchise record for wins in a season. McCarthy, who calls the plays on offense, watched QB Brett Favre have a resurgent season and an offense that came in second in total yards per game (370.7), total passing yards (270.9), and fourth in total points scored (450). To protect Favre, McCarthy employed the league’s only offensive line that used five of their own draft choices as starters. On defense, the Packers were tied for sixth in points allowed (291) and interceptions (19). Green Bay is young and talented on defense, with only two starters in their 30s. On special teams, the Packers relied on the foot of rookie kicker Mason Crosby, who had three field goals of at least 50 yards. McCarthy was nominated for two Motorola NFL Coach of the Week awards, winning twice - as have the other three nominated coaches.

My opinion on this is that based on the amount of times Brett won this award throughout the season, he should win hands down and it would be an outrage if he didn't. McCarthy - he should win purely because nothing was expected of the Packers this season. Though Belicheat won the AP Coach of the Year this season, McCarthy was chosen NFL Alumni Coach of the Year - voted on by former NFL players.

GO PACK!!!

Brett Favre is a true player of our time. Not because of the records but because of the passion and the true meaning of what sportsmanship should be. He is truly a hero in the professional arena.

Mike McCarthy is another true professional in that he quietly goes along and does the magic that he does bringing together talent and passion to equal a great team in all aspects.

Nice! especially like your Passion = Truth adage

is this wholly your own or did you have some help? I don't want to take anything away - quite the oppsite - it's brilliant - and if it's all yours I want to give you all the credit.

How could Favre not come back, both his daughters think he should!
