Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Sour grapes is very unbecoming on you, Mr. Tarkenton.

I don't need to hear this shit while on vacation.

Hey, you don't have to like Brett Favre. You can have a negative opinion about Favre. That's fine. But hypocrisy I have no patience for. Or misstated "facts".

Former Minnesota Viking QB Fran Tarkenton and former co-host of "That's Incredible", ripped on Brett Favre yesterday.

"I kind of hope it happens, so he can fail," Tarkenton said, in response to Favre potentially coming out of retirement (though NFL Commish Goodall says he's not sure Brett did, in fact, retire from the New York Jets after last season) to play for the Vikings this season.

"I think it's despicable. What he put the Packers through last year was not good," Tarkenton told 790 The Zone radio. "Here's an organization that was loyal to him for [16 years], provided stability, provided players...It just wasn't about Brett Favre. In this day and time, we have glorified the Brett Favres of the world so much, they think it's about them."

First Tarkenton comments on what Brett "put the Packers through" the season before last. Then he says "it just wasn't about Brett". Well which is it, Fran? Had the Packers just released Favre as soon as he unretired, the PR debacle that ensued would've been a non-issue. Packer management is just as much to blame for all that as Brett is.

Tarkenton, 69, played for the Vikings from 1961 to '66 and from 1972 to his retirement after the 1978 season. He went 0-3 in Super Bowls with the Vikings but finished as the NFL's career leader in several categories, including passing yards (47,003) and touchdown passes (342). Favre now holds both of those marks.

Tarkenton said Favre has "made more stupid plays than any great quarterback that I've ever seen"; has stayed away from teams' off-season programs; and had his own area in the locker room to dress as a member of the Packers and Jets. "Playing quarterback is about the relationships you have with your coaches, with your players, with your trainers, with your managers," Tarkenton said. "How can you do that if you show up on game day and you haven't put the time in? And now he's trying to do it again in Minnesota. And if Minnesota bites, God bless them. . . . He's been a great player, there's no question about it, but it's all about him. It is supposed to be all about your team."

"If you're going to be the quarterback of your team, you need to be there in the off-season workouts in March and April. Peyton Manning's there. Tom Brady's there."

Ah...Fran, Brett didn't get traded to the Jets until late in the preseason. That's why he was sequestered - so he could learn the playbook, you dumb bitch. And Favre has made more great plays than stupid plays, you dumb bitch. I used to like Tarkenton. But he just made my "list".

couple quick thoughts after i wrote this post.

1.) originally Tarkenton referred to Favre being with Green Bay 17 or 18 years. it was 16 - dipshit.

2.) "despicable"? jumping around from one team to another? Fran, Brett was TRADED to the Jets. he could've said no, but he didn't initially ask to be sent there. remember, FRAN, you were traded to the Giants from Minnesota before returning to Minnesota and going 0-3 in Super Bowls.

3.) "despicable"? a bit strong? what about Michael Vick? or TO's behavior? or the dozens of football players involved in rapes, DUI's, gun possession and drug possession? "despicable"? you're despicable, Fran, for opening your mouth. bitch.

just read another quote on my friend tony's blog - one where tarkenton said that Favre "bombed" in NY. ha - ah...Favre helped take the Jets to an 8-3 record until he tore his bicep...and the entire team managed to go 1-4 at the end - not just Brett Favre. AND the Jets finished 5 or 6 games better than they had the previous season. "bombed"?? suck this one, Fran!
