Avril Lavigne's just asking for a beating.
Wait - I guess 5 people already did that. Read about it here. See what her face looked like post beating here.
Singer Avril Lavigne graced the November 2010 Maxim cover and the picture above was one of the featured shots of Lavigne inside. The story of Avril's ass being kicked - and this pictorial - are old news. However, someone posted this article from NPR today, discussing the wave of profanity in songs this past year and I thought the article tied in nicely with the Avril-flipping-the-bird-picture + her getting beat up in Hollywood.
Rock and Roll has always had its bad asses. Elvis, The Stones, The Sex Pistols, The Who, Def Leppard, Grace Slick, whatever. That's nothing new.
This flipping the bird shit with celebs. I don't get it. Am I supposed to feel threatened by Lavigne? Am I supposed to respect her more because she's a "bad ass"? Or like her more? Or go buy her albums because she's "cool"? I understand Lavigne's concerts and albums have been in decline. Maybe that's why she's upped the badness.
I'm not impressed. A small child can be taught to flip his or finger up. People who are "bad" don't have to be overt about it. They don't have to flip you off or use profane language. When Avril and her boytoy, Brody Jenner, got their asses kicked earlier this year, maybe Avril flipped the wrong people off and pissed them off. Maybe the "bad ass" got her ass kicked by the real bad asses.
She makes me laugh.
