Passion = Truth? How Jeffrey James Francis Ircink Sees The World? I love when people are passionate about something. That surging of emotion is the one honest measure of what truth is. It's a truthful display of how a person really feels about something or someone at that particular moment. That passion IS truth.

Nice rhetoric, Bob Schieffer. Our Supreme Court thinks otherwise.

CBS News' Bob Schieffer thinks the crazed antics of the Westboro Baptist Church have gone over the line.

Our Supreme Court disagreed on Wednesday. And just in case you're not familiar with WBC's inflammatory rhetoric, check out this clip of its founder, Fred Phelps. See what we mean?

As a sidenote, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion:

On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker...As a nation we have chosen a different course – to protect even hurtful speech on public issues to ensure that we do not stifle public debate.
Then explain this to me. Why can someone be sued for slander or libel if the damaging material is, in fact, not factual, but WBC can say anything it wants and it's protected as free speech?
