President Obama looks like he's aging already.

They say Presidents age two years for every one year that they're in office. It was on the CBS Sunday Morning Show. - the only news show I watch.

Jurist Legal News and Research ran an article by guest columnist William G. Ross which provides some insight into President Obama's recent cabinet nominations and the methodology used in confirming or rejectng these nominees (1% have ever been rejected in the last 200 years).

Granted, most of President Obama's nominees are getting approved, but it's the ones that don't get approved (or drop out) that make news. So far Daschle (Health & Human Services, withdrew over tax issues), Killefer (Chief Performance Officer, withdrew over tax issues) and Richardson (Commerce, withdrew because he's in the midst of a grand jury investigation) are out. Tim Geithner (Treasury) was approved, even after failing to pay taxes on unreported income AND for having an illegal alien working on his household staff (employee's papers had expired). Eric Holder's (Attorney General) nomination was approved after being grilled about recommending a pardon for fugitive financier Marc Rich during the Clinton administration (never researched Rich before but you should look up this scumbag). And, of course, Hillary Clinton was approved as Secretary of State and there are a zillion questions concerning her character that everyone has seemingly brushed under the carpet.

People make mistakes. But cabinet nominees should be held to higher scrutiny. WTF. And honestly, anyone who would pardon Marc Rich for taking a shit in the woods should not be approved for anyone's cabinet. However, these recent misfires regarding President Obama's cabinet appointees gives creedence to Republican's stance that the Democrat's cavalier (I just thought about that word yesterday for a play I've written) attitude about taxing other people reflects on the fact that the Democrats do not abide by the tax laws themselves.
