Favre tells the Jets he's retiring.

Surprise? Not a surprise?

"In talks with the team brass this morning, Favre told the Jets that he did not want to hold the team hostage and while he still thinks he can play, he felt it was the right decision." This from FoxSports.com.

So, do I trust the Jay Glazer and the morons at FoxSports.com? It was first reported by ESPN (come on, Jay, you're losing your touch). Will Favre pull a fast one and un-retire again? Hmm.

"Mike and Woody, as well as the entire organization, have been nothing short of outstanding,'' Favre said in the e-mail. "My teammates -- Thomas and Kerry included -- were a pleasure to play with. Eric [Mangini] could not have been any better. I enjoyed playing for him. My time with the Jets was short, but I'm honored to be given that chance.
Read the ESPN story here. If you're no stranger to PASSION = TRUTH, you know how I feel about Brett. Let's just leave it at that.

I'm prepared to have my bagel order screwed up this morning at Winchell's. THAT would be the 3rd part of my "bad news" trifecta in less than 24 hours.
