Brett Favre Named NFC Offensive Player of Week 4 by the NFL & FEDEX Air Player of the Week!

Two honors this week.

Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers was named the NFC Offensive Player of Week 4 for games played the fourth week of the 2007 season (September 30-October 1), the NFL announced Wednesday. AND he was named FedEx Air Player of the Week for the same time period This is his 2nd win and 3rd nomination in 4 weeks in both categories.

I know I keep saying this but that's pretty good for an old, slow QB who's past his prime and only hurting his 4-0 team, ain't it? Not only did Brett surpass Dan Marino's all-time TD record of 420 with 422 TDs, but he led the league in passing this week (which is an odd thing to rank QBs by - so, you pass for 500 yards but lose the game and you're ranked as the #1 QB for that week?) GB won the game, by the way, and we're 4-0. Brett set 2 other records during the Viking game - passing attempts (surpassing Marino) and he moved up to 2nd all-time consecutive starts for any position. And congrats on the TD record, Brett!

You gotta watch this video. Here's Brett wired during the historic game against the Vikings - it's good, especially when he's talking to Aaron Rogers (his heir apparent) on the bench:
