51.43 seconds?

Eric Heiden from Madison, WI was the golden boy of the 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid, NY. He won 5 gold medals...every event in speedskating. No one has accomplished that feat since. Now, the guy below is Sven Kramer of the Netherlands, who just set an Olympic record in the 5,000 meters at the winter olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Kramer's time? 6:10.76. Heiden's gold-winning time in the 5,000 meters was 7:02.29. 51.43 seconds slower than Kramer's time.

That's more than a lap distance.

Whatever. Heiden is still the king. Always will be.
