Apparently writer/artist Edward Gorey dabbled in erotica.

Not Gorey himself. I mean through his writing. Check out the cover of the 1965 parody of etiquette books, The Recently Deflowered Girl.

Gorey was an American writer and artist noted for his macabre, sometimes wordless, illustrated books. His writings typically had Victorian and Edwardian settings and have a cultish following. He sometimes wrote under a pseudonym. You may remember his work on the animated introduction to the PBS series Mystery!

Browse here to see the book in its entirety. It's quite fun (I deflowered two women in the course of reading it - only takes a few minutes!).
