Favre's reaction to Favre's retirement.

“Why now? It wasn’t going to change, really. Two months from now, I would probably have the same doubts or questions, and that’s not the way I want to play.”

“Physically, for the most part, I feel the same. Aside from the most important thing, and that’s my throwing shoulder. Progressively, it got worse throughout the year...That very well could be fine next year. And I’m well aware of that. But then again, it could linger and bother me throughout the year, and I just felt like it was time. More than anything, that was the wake-up call.”

“I have no reason to wonder why you would be so skeptical? (joking) And I’m sure, because I have friends and family, ‘All right, Brett, is this the real deal? And it is. It is. Believe me. It has been a wonderful career. I couldn’t ask for anything more. It’s time to leave.”

“Physically, if I felt better, we might not be having this conversation. But that is, more than anything, the writing on the wall.”

“I have no idea what I’m going to do, and I’m fine with that. Right now, I have no desire to do anything.”
