The Volumes' "I Love You" (1962).

You KNOW I love doo wop, right?

Heard this song on KSCN 88.5FM out of Northridge, Cali last night (early morning) on the show, A Long, Long Time Ago, hosted by Dave Cameron. It runs Sunday early mornings from 12a - 3a and features early Rock n’ Roll up to the British Invasion. Its’ evolution included northern band Rock n’ Roll (e.g., Bill Haley), Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, Doo Wop and New Orleans Shuffle.

Reminded me of my folks. My mom graduated H.S. in '61 so I'm sure she'd remember this song. Featured in "The Lords of Flatbush" and "The Wanderers" , "I Love You" is one of the forgotten great doo-wop songs that, when you hear it, takes "you back"...whatever "back" means to you.
