Favre. Rodgers, A "stat" for your pipe. Now SMOKE THIS!

This debate will rage until the end of mankind. So let me make it simple for all of us - Favre fans, Rodgers' fans. Packer fans. Old and young. The rational (like me) and the idiots (you know who you are). Got these already-prepared stats from someone online. The game of football is about wins and losses, correct? Fine. Now put down the kool-aid the Packer GM "the Reverend" Ted Thompson gave you and let's talk "wins" and "losses", dear hearts...

16 years before Brett Favre: Packers were 97-143-2; 3 winning seasons, 0 Playoffs

16 years with Brett Favre: Packers were 161-95; 13 winning seasons, 11 Playoffs

1 Year after Brett Favre: Packers are 5-9; 0 winning seasons, 0 Playoffs

I realize it's too early in his career to judge current Packer QB Aaron Rodgers - and I should be fair. My beef was never with Rodgers but with Green Bay management who just threw away a 13-3 regular season last year for spite, control and ego. Statistically, Rodgers had a good year. But we all know stats can be skewed, and a good year for Rodgers did not translate into a good year for the Packers.

And after all, no one person is bigger than the team, right Packer fans?

  2. Here's some more stats for you...

1996 Super Bowl Champs...#1 Defense in the league, #10 Rushing team

1997 Super Bowl Runners-up...# 1 Defense, #11 in Rushing offense...

Its a team game, quit trying to make it a Favre versus Rodgers. I know you like to b/c it feeds your passion for hating Thompson, etc...but please leave out the QB position, b/c it has nothing to do with the Packers current state of affairs.

  3. Rodgers isn't CLOSING games. and if you-read my post, i give Rodgers some credit. in the end, it's about wins and losses. 5-10 is not a pathetic season compared to 13-3. big, BIG step backwards.

and considering what happened in the off-season, the QB comparisons are inevitable. TT can suck my schlong!
