You may not watch football or know who Brett Favre is. But if you watch this video, "Brett Favre - The Legend", put together during this past NFL season and aired before the Packer's win at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day, perhaps you'll understand why I've been smiling for the past 16 years and why my family and friends who are Green Bay Packer fans are so close.
Brett announced his retirement this week after 17 years in the NFL. I've never really referred to any person in my life as "my hero". I suppose if I had to pick someone it would be my father. But next to him - I'd pick Brett Favre. Now you know why our hearts - the fans' hearts - are heavy. Why I am very, very sad.
