Happy 38th B-day, Brett.

As my friend, Jim Sickels would say, "you're doin' pretty good out there, ya old dog". And here are few more accolades on your birthday, Brett:

* Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre was named the United States Sports Academy’s Male Athlete of the Month for September. The Academy’s Athlete of the Month is selected by a national voting committee comprised of former athletes, media, sports organizations and governing bodies. The United States Sports Academy is an independent, non-profit, accredited, special mission sports institute designed to serve the nation and the world with programs in instruction, research and service. The role of the Academy, “America’s Sports University” in higher education, is to prepare men and women fin the profession of sports.

* Also, in Washington, DC, by voice vote Tuesday, the House passed a resolution honoring Green Bay Packers' quarterback Brett Favre for his charitable works and for setting the National Football League's record for career touchdown passes. "Today, the United States House of Representatives offers this praise to Brett Favre, to his family, to the Green Bay Packers and to the people of Wisconsin, who together own the most storied team in professional sports," said Rep. Steve Kagen, an Appleton Democrat whose district includes Lambeau Field.
